Left Picture Below cutting along the bottle, I used trusty soldering iron to melt the cut in the bottom and made two holes for tent pegs, went over lines of seeds then seedlings.

Middle Picture I did build a pop bottle fox proof cloche

Right Picture I also cut pop bottles in half and burn a hole in the bottom and use both halves the other way ie. top and bottoms over plants by just pushing into the ground

Slug traps to keep your blue pellets of death dry or your beer from getting watered down, once full of dead slugs throw them away. Again trusty soldering Iron used to weld parts together, but more recently four staples so the same job and is much quicker as no waiting for soldering Iron to warm up  :nowink:

I use them for loads of crops  ;)

but I cut the top off as they get to hot otherwise - slide 2 sticks down either side or they blow away

here's a pic of last years baby cabbages - this stops cabbage root fly too and wind damage - they just slide off when you think the cabbage is big enough

The square frame was 1.2m x 1,2m and I think there were about 10 bottles per bamboo stick, I will check next visit

I do Barley's mini cloche think for sweetcorn - they love the extra warmth and wind protection as they get going.

Nice idea - though given we don't drink pop, it's time to go raiding the recycling bins at the flat...

We use the large water bottles, bottom cut off and short cane down through the top to prevent the wind blowing them away, when we put out courgettes and cucumber but you have to take them off on sunny days.
