Your Autumnal Scenes Competition.
Don't forget to put a description with your photo!
Prize – To be announced.
It's been a wonderful autumn this year for colour so let us see the best autumnal picture you have taken.
This competition will run until 2nd December 2010 - with voting open to members for a week after.
The simple rules:
- You can enter one photograph into the competition which should be no more than 640 pixels wide.
- It can be anything you want that is autumnal and would make a good greetings card!
- It should be accompanied by a short title and some description.
- The competition is open to all "Full Members" i.e. those with more than 50 posts.
- At the closing date we will add a poll for members to vote on and the most popular photo will be the winner.
- The winners will receive a prize as listed above and the winning photo may be placed in a permanent photo gallery along with the best runners up.
- Closing Date for Entries: Sunday 2rd December 2010 when voting will be allowed by all members for a week.
Full rules can be found Here (http://chat.allotment-garden.org/index.php?topic=15798.0)

Some lovely pictures so far
I would like to enter this picture if I may. This was taken from our garden during the autumn maize harvest.

Staghorn on the Grand Union at Kings Langley.
I took this on the 4th Nov while walking the Grand Union Canal with my trusty old Canon compact, sadly on it's way out. The tree was absolutely stunning in the late afternoon sun. It almost looked like it was on fire.
We've walked the Green Sand Ridge through the Chilterns and the Thames from source to sea and the Grand Union is our latest project. It's provided some interesting sights and wildlife so far but this has to be up there with the best.
It's my first ever photo entry so hope you like it.

OK, as many of you know we don't have a lot of trees right round here, so this is quite a typical autumn scene for us. A bit different, I know... :)

Reflecting upon the last days of Leonardslee Gardens – an autumn to remember.
How silently they tumble down
And come to rest upon the ground
To lay a carpet, rich and rare,
Beneath the trees without a care,
Content to sleep, their work well done,
Colours gleaming in the sun.
