Importing pic from camera via USB problem.
« on: February 24, 2019, 15:15 »
I always download my pics from my camera by attaching it to the USB which I keep attached to my pc and never had a problem. Lat week I took two pics that I downloaded ok. Yesterday I tried to download one I took that day but, although it's showing on my camera, it won't download although the other two pics I took this month have. I re-charged my camera and checked both terminals of the USB were attached - nope. I moved the USB to another socket - nope. Anyone know why?
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

Is the camera turned on when you connect the USB cable, GG? (nothing wrong with doing that)

Or alternatively, just connect the USB to the PC then fire up the camera! The pics should appear as a box which asks you to save, view files etc. I tend to view the files by date, then drag them across to a folder on the desk top. They can be edited in Picasa from there (or any other prog you use).

Should work...

I'm afraid it doesn't although it used to. I turn the camera on then attach the USB to it but all I can get is the two pics I took two weeks ago. I keep the USB attached to my pc then just insert the other end into my camera. I hate it when you do something that always works, then for some reason it doesn't although you haven't done anything different!

The pics aren't on a flash disk are they? If so, it will show up in your main pics folder in Windows Explorer as another drive - say 'F'.

But also try unplugging everything and starting from scratch. Your PC may still be 'thinking' it's done its work from a previous visit two weeks ago.

You could just try shutting the PC down for a while, then re-booting to correct any 'logjam' which may be preventing your pic from loading.

can you take the memory card out of the camera and put into your pc, or you might need to reformat your memory card as it has become corrupt. You will lose the pic you took.

I've just tried it again and - nope! Having had a look at the display that shows on the pic it's possible I somehow got it into video mode so will try again tomorrow. Thanks all for your help.

Why is the pic slightly lop-sided?

Not normal for someone with an eye for the upright and stainless!
