blimey - thanks guys'n'gals I shall use the stuff in the ground for trenching and in my 3 new HUGE compost bins (made from pallets purloined from work, dont worry not the "chep" ones for those in the know!!) I will experiment a bit...

Dont' talk to me about Chep - the rep comes round every three months and say ' you have 250 pallets' we are hand pull from the haulage co and so they go back but they don't register them them as coming from us and so we get fined - apparently our local haulage co get £1 for each they send back - are they going to say then they came from me :?:

oh dear wighty - CHEP are very diligent in there inventory checking, I make sure we always sign deliveries with the addage WHITE pallets or BLUE pallets AND if the delivery driver brings a blue pallet I try make him take a blue one back and make him sign for it! I know its a nightmare, but unless you keep a proper log of them and can show them you are logging them in and out they can get rather shirty!!

they get a darned sight MORE than a quid a pallet for the chep ones- I think its a fiver at least for retrievals, they get a quid for just the stone bonk ordinary white euros

Apparently if you want pallets at our site they will get them in for you.... at the moment there is a large pile of blue pallets just waiting to be taken by anyone who wants them!

I'll be too scared to use them now!!!! :shock: Perhaps I can spray them a different colour!
