Title: Greenfly on Lettuce!!!!
Post by: adri123 on January 16, 2015, 15:24
Fume!!! I grew some lettuce from one of those living lettuce packs you can buy in the supermarket.  They were getting to a decent size in the new greenhouse and just noticed today that they are covered in aphids....

Do I need to fumigate the greenhouse?

A sulphur candle will deal with the aphids but unfortunately will kill any plants too, including your lettuces.

Thx Jay.  I've sacrificed the lettuces and left them out in the snow.  There are some plants left in the GH though and I don't want the aphids if they can be avoided.  No sign yet so they might have ALL been on the lettuces.

One good thing...found a ladybird today and popped her in the GH.
