Just wanted to thank you for your advice on trimming my bearded silkies.
Havent been on for a while hence the late reply. I did trim afterall because of all of the reasons you stated. the feathers were not dirty but I know they could not see well and also the feathers round their eyes were wet from touching the eye. I decided it must be very uncomfortable and irritating!
I am on my own and thought it would be really difficult but once Sid and Doris realised what I was doing they were very well behaved and now seem much happier
