Raspberry suckers?
« on: April 27, 2020, 13:55 »
I planted some autumn bliss last October. They are coming on well with leaves at the top of the canes. One of them also has some stumpy stalks coming out at the base. Is this normal? Are they suckers, and if so should I remove them? Thanks in advance.

They are your new fruit-bearing canes - don't remove them!

(The cut-down original canes which the plants had when you bought them do sometimes sprout and produce a small early crop, although they would normally be cut down to the ground in winter after fruiting.)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!
