potato tops

Morning folks 
I've never known if potato tops are safe in the compost bin,
I've never put them in there in the past because something in the
back of my brain tells me not to.
Q. Yes or No ?

As long as they are disease free, I always do. I never put tubers or peeling in though!

I don't put tubers in my compost, but I do put peelings in, so I was wondering why you said you don't. Can they cause a problem?

Not a major problem but I have known peelings to become plants in the compost heap before!

Good grief, who knew? I'd better keep an eye on my compost.
