Title: a few good men
Post by: rowlandwells on May 07, 2018, 17:25
I was working on my daughters allotment yesterday when I seen the allotment one above where I was working  had a new tenant it had been in an real state before this  chap took it on he has cultivated and put raised beds  all over it really making it nice and tidy

when the chap arrived on his plot I went over to him and introduced myself and told him what a great job he had made clearing and cultivating the plot together with the raised beds

he went on to tell me all the wood had been donated by the local  businesses then he explained that the allotment plot was part of project for the local hospice for children with cancer who liked coming up the allotment and picking the veg

I thought what a man giving up his free time to help those less fortunate than us and with cancer to boot he said the kids loved coming up spending time at the allotments I really felt sad for those poor kids with cancer but he had bought a bit of sunshine in there lives with the allotments  :(
