Title: B&Q/DIY Store bargains
Post by: NorfolkVeg on April 27, 2011, 21:35

I'm not a fan of buying seeds or plants from DIY stores but can't resist having a look and the plants/shrubs when I am there and I've over the week or so, each time I go in for something, they have reduced veg plants.  I got 18 cabbage plant today for 20p!  I'm seperated them all and potted them in sep pots and give them a good water and popped them in greenhouse!  Hopefully, most wil survive.

Bargains galore to come hopefully

Rick

Good for you. I'd be careful about cabbages in the greenhouse though, it might be too hot for them.

A cold-frame would be better or even out in the big-outside but mind the nibblers. Slugs & snails get everywhere.

If they've been in the greenhouse and it's very warm in there, I'd put them out during the day and take them in at night for a week so they don't have too much of a shock.

Mind you, they are pretty hard things.  ;)
