Last week I went to a friends house only to be asked "can you give Reiki to my sick chook, she has a bad leg and a swollen eye". Well I am no expert but I took one look and said I thought she needed antibiotics as I thought it could be Coryza. Her eye is enormous and obviously infected, it is almost closed, looks pussey and stinks. As for her leg, I dont know what she has done but she cant walk on it properly. She was also running with little crawlies. My friend got her some "stuff" the name of which I havent got and it didnt do anything. I am pet sitting for her now and this poor chook is making a very very slow recovery. I have brought her home now for some proper TLC. She has been deloused, I have been bathing her eye and got her some TEVEMYXINE from the vet which is an antibiotic eye drop. I also got her some antibiotics PNEUMOBIOTIQUE the main ingredients of which are Oxytetracycline (as hydrochloride) and Spiramycine. Is all this the right stuff do you think? She has been on this since Saturday. She is eating and drinking well. :(

It's more alright than the treatment her owners were giving her
I wouldn't eat the eggs though, Hope she gets better :D

Poor Chook!
I know that the tetracyclines are good for this disease as well as Tylan that a vet would probably recommend. Hope this helps! :)
