Pest Control Advice
« on: June 13, 2011, 19:09 »
From Sam Beaton's 1862 New Dictionary of Everyday Gardening

Quote
'If the caterpillar has begun its ravages, the ground beneath the currant bush should be sprinkled with new lime, and a double  barrelled gun fired two or three times under it to shake the caterpillars down onto it'

Methinks more than the caterpillars would be shaken.

How things have changed eh!!!
