Title: Bargain Time!!!
Post by: John on December 26, 2017, 14:05
Wednesday & Thursday will be good days to hit the supermarkets for bargains about to run out of shelf life.
The Christmas perishables that didn't sell like cheese, smoked salmon etc.
One year we filled 2 trolleys with bargains at a supermarket and paid less than a fiver! Filled our freezer, our daughter's and a friend's.
Remember - cheese will freeze, cream makes butter which will freeze but with fish check they've not already been frozen. If so you'll need to cook something up, like a fish pie or a soup and freeze that.
We kept frozen Stilton for a year - use the rind as a flavouring in a dish
