As long as it well rotted it should be ok.

I just move it away from the line of the drill if sowing seeds

Good advice from Mum think it depends on what you put in. I once had a lorry load of manure delivered it was a foot deep on my bed so I just put my spuds straight into it. They went ballistic !! Not sure I would do that with other veg though??
