Hi all,

I sowed a load of italian style mixed leaf salad that is intended to be used as a cut-and-come-again crop, but thought I'd let a few go to full size. They haven't got all that far, but I've noticed that they now have a strange "head" forming in the centre that looks like mini broccoli. Anyone know what this is? Is it a sign that it is going to seed?

I've been very dilligent with my watering, do you think its just that they're not a vareity suited to maturing into big fat lettuce heads?

Is there anything I can do, or should I just pull them up and eat what I've got?

It's started - so it'll finish. Nothing you can do about it.

Eat what you can & make a mental note that the best thing to do with "cut and come again" lettuce, is to errrrr....... "cut and come again"!
