Title: Greenhouse
Post by: Pugsly on June 15, 2023, 16:30
Hi, this is my first post, so l hope l am doing it right.

We have just moved in to a new house, with my first vegetable garden. I would like to get a greenhouse, but not sure on what glass to get or would polycarbonate be better.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forums  :D

I suppose the first thing to consider is budget and what you are thinking of spending.

Also, whether you would need safety glass or polycarbonate for risk assessment reasons - e.g., chances of a passing child running into the glass or a football / golf ball etc. hitting it and smashing the glass

Apart from what the others have said, it also depends on how enthusiastic you are about growing veg both inside and later planting them out and what you want to use it for. Meaning no disrespect, maybe find on one recycle so you can have a trial year to see how things go. If you really get the bug, like garden tools don't buy cheap. Depending on your skills you could always make a trial one from pallets and some polycarbonate sheets or you can get a roll of plastic sheeting similar to that used to cover those mini-greenhouses. Good luck anyway.
