i wouldnt bother myself nathan with a engine flush I would just drop the old oil and replace with new.same goes for the fuel system empty tank and fill it up again check the pick up filter clean it or replace and check the fuel pipe for cracks and its not blocked with rubbish, give the carb a blast with carb cleaner.
what do you mean about the factory settings ?
feed the soil not the plants
organicish
you learn gardening by making mistakes

it smokes but in puffs but someone told me it would build up and then chuck it out, today it wasnt wanting to do much at all but i think i may have put stale fuel in it (not knowing)

ive for a flush and fuel systen cleaner here thats why i thought i may use it and have a fresh start.

hammer is needed!

right

changed plug, oil, cleaned air filter

ran great then started misfiring again when high revs are on, runs great still on tick over!

someone said there maybe 2 pick up pipes into the tank? one for idle and one for extra fuel when revs are on, doesanyone know if this is true on my engine? if so i will have to order a new inlet gasket and tank -> carb gasket

thanks

your mis fire is likely to be a build up of "muck" on the pick up filters that are in the fuel tank ( years and years of old fuel being left over winter in the tank). if you are having to wind the mixture screw almost all the way out, that is.
to clean the filters you will have to remove the carb and tank together and then split them. the filters are atttched to the bottom of the carb.
i dont remember if that briggs engine has points. i don't think it has. if the recoil housing says magnetron on it, then it wont have any.
hope this helps. :D
