I've got the chance to get a dozen 6ft by 3ft aviary panels for free and was wondering if these would be suitable to make a fruit cage or anything else on the plot? Haven't seen them as yet but have googled for an image of aviary panels and they look pretty useful.

Has anyone ever tried this?

If they are weldmesh, they will keep the birds out, so okay for fruit cage, but if you decided to use them for a brassica cage they wouldn't keep the butterflies out.

However if they are chicken wire, small birds may get through!

thanks for that. i'm sure i'll find a use for them somewhere regardless lol. but a fruit cage is just what i need.
