Could anyone tell me if it's common for a chook to have fits? Ginger my 2/3 yr old ex bat  had what I would call a fit, she dropped to the ground and she couldn't keep her head up, she was flopping it from side to side only for about 1/2mins. Then she got up and started eating, but about 10minutes later she had died.  

She will be sadly missed she was head of household, the other 8 are wondering where she is!

sounds just like a grand mal fit (why should they not have them?) and unfortunately  as can happen with any animal, human or otherwise prolonged convulsions can lead to a heart siezure.
So sorry for you, her and the other eight but please remember she has had a lovely life with you and got to know what it was like to be a proper chicken and to know what it felt like to be loved xxx

Don't know if it's common, but heart attacks do happen.

So sorry but she got to do all the chickeny things that she did'nt do before you had her and she was happy.
