i wasnt quite sure what sand to get for the girls so i got play sand is that ok for them to mess around and roll in , i remember posts on here where peeps have spoken about it but i could not remember what sand it was

Mine have had play sand Looby & they loved it bathed it, played in it & yes pooped it it

glad i got it right then sarah , but what about if it gets wet will it do them any harm if they use it , i do have one area in a far corner thats under a felt covered garden panel it could go under that i cant wait to see them play in it tomorw .

I tried to keep mine dry, but with horizontal rain we have at times it's near impossible
They've eaten it damp and had no ill effects.

I reckon if you took the chickens to the beach, they'd have a brilliant day out.

Sand varies from area to area so they'll get different sorts depending on where they live. Judging by the state of it after a week, the dirtier and damper the better for them

Mine had builders sand.. but it was wet and they didn't care for it at all.. Must get some dry sand for them, but since I have had the run covered they are loving the dry "mud" to bathe in

the play sand i got is  still pretty damp an hoping it will dry out , i havent noticed them dust in it but they have been pecking around in it .
