Title: Newbie
Post by: Rach80 on June 30, 2015, 13:06
Hi everyone, I'm Rachael, I live with Hubby and our 4 lovely children... We have no indoor pets, BUT we have just entered the glorious world of backyard chicken keeping just over a week ago!
We have 5 beautiful Bantams and 2 very regal looking Light Sussex...
So we're on a bit of a learning curve at the moment... The chooks (so I was told at the time of purchase) were all between 6 - 9 weeks old with the Light Sussex being the oldest... As they have grown over the past week and a bit, I now suspect that they may be of very differing ages.
They are all eating a 50/50 mix of chick crumb and growers pellets and they seem to be thriving quite nicely.

I looking forward to getting to know everyone and their chooks  :) I will put some pics up on the picture thread

Rach

Welcome, well done!

....and no flowers or grass or any other tasty looking bit of greenery!
You'll have a long wait for eggs but the first one is always worth it. :D
