Veggies for shady areas

Can anyone suggest veggies that I can plant in a shaded area - the soil is really good and not too moist/dry. Have had some success in the past with tomatoes but would appreciate other suggestions.

First thing that springs to mind is lettuce

I think carrots can tolerate quite a lot of shade?
Lotty holder since Aug 09... I've FINALLY finished clearing it! On with the p.lanting  ....

Definately lettuce and I think most veg that is grown for the leaf.
