I know what you mean, normally mine dont make it past the allotment gate  ::)
If you want to be happy for a short time - get drunk.

If you want to be happy for a long time - fall in love.

If you want to be happy forever - take up gardening!

One more query, as I was looking at this yesterday.

How do you show runner & french beans with one pod open? I don't think that neither done nor feasible without making a right mess of the bean!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

You don't show runner or french beans with one pod open I think that was just a little overenthusiasm crossed with a typo.
Cheese makes everything better.

Yep, sorry, that was my mistake ::)

If, when you have a set of 5 potatoes ready, or any of the other veg on the list for that matter, take a picture because everyones veg will all be ready at differant times, so some time in september we will open up the veg show and everyone can enter the photos they took.

Weve probably missed the chance for first earlies, but please take pictures of your second earlies and main crop spuds :D

I need some help with showing onions, should you bend the tops over before you tie the raffia round the stems, and how I've read somewhere about 'tightening the skins' what's this?

Not everyone bends the tops over. You can tie with raffia then cut off the top level with the raffia.
Not sure what you mean about tightening the skins. it could be something to do with the practice of dusting the bulbs with talcum powder when you are drying them off. many exhibitors reckon this results in a better skin.
Sets a low standard and fails to achieve it.

Can we have a class for best tray of home grown veg with personality Jamie

I'd love to enter but I don't very often grow perfect looking show veg.  Maybe we could do ugly but tasty - I have some lovely beeksteak toms and peppers on the way but they are all individuals if you know what I mean  ;)  :D
