Anyone any idea on how to use surplus cobs ??
-
This is the recipes section of the site - sweetcorn page - albeit not specifically cobs:

And you can freeze them whole.

Oh you lucky lucky lucky....
I would take my camping cooker down to the plot, cook em up, and pig out until i can't be moved!!!!
:)

lucky you! :D i've simply blanched mine and then frozen them in packs of two, they freeze really well :)
-
feed them to my chickens as I hate the stuff

NO
I blanch then cut the kernels off, bag up and freeze. Also make sweetcorn relish which is lovely with cold meat and jacket tates.
But my chocks always get the middle bit after I've cut the kernels off :)

I tried growing some last year just for the chickens but they demolished the plants and ate the kernals before I got to harvesting them

good idea........for the last few years I've blanched them and frozen on the cob, but now I've got the lottie, the freezer is full............and freezing kernals would take up less room :)

Might take up less room, but half the fun is eating them off the cob, getting butter dripping down your chin 8) ::)

You could always make tons of cornflakes

I've cut mine into mini cobs, blanched and frozen, using Val's method.
