With all this rain. . .
« on: October 10, 2012, 18:27 »

It must have washed all 'Old Nick's' wee wee off the brambles, so I think I'll chance another days foraging.   :nowink:

9lb gone into 'mixed fruit' jam,  10lbs gone into the 'cassis jam' mentioned earlier and 13 lbs draining down nicely to make bramble jelly.

Anyone any idea of a novel way of using the bramble 'mush' after the juice has drained out?

Cheers,    Tony.

You're lucky if you have any brambles  ;)
Here in the SE we had a month with no rain and they all shrivelled on the plants  :(

I watered the raspberries and luckily they've made up for it  :D

I only use the sieved/strained fruit to get rid of the seeds so wouldn't want to add them to anything tbh eugh!

I gave our mush to the chooks at the plot -- they loved it

I dump my mush in the compost - too many seeds makes for chronic indigestion.
