Title: young sparrow attacked by hens
Post by: Geo on August 18, 2013, 20:32
I just managed to get out in time to stop them killing a young sparrow. They were throwing it up in the air and fighting over it. The poor thing looked as if it was just out of the nest and would almost certainly have been eaten.
I picked the bird up and locked the hens in the run. I put it into next doors garden and saw it back on it's feet and walking about as if the attack had never happened.Such is life.

Well done Geo.  They are very vicious when it come to small fury or feathered creatures.

Yes had to watch mine earlier this year with baby birds.  And now have had to fence off the bank near the pond to save the baby frogs.
