Just been to our local Scats store and they are promoting Suttons Seed Tapes.

Basically they are what it says on the packet, seeds stuck to tape and all you do is make a groove in the soil, place the tape in, cover with soil and water.  No thinning out, therefore, no waste, etc ec.

I bought a packet of carrot seeds just to see how they go, but has anyone used these yet?

Hi wyandotty I have bought some myself to but i have not sown yet waiting to end of month but even though i have never tried them before i think they will be ok as long as you have good soil and its nice and fine , they like it sandy so im told good luck . CC.

I tried them last year (carrots) but wasn't very successful - quite happily accept that it was partially incompentence on my part.
Did find I needed to 'anchor' them down so that the tapes weren't blown away (or scratched away by the feline helpers)!

I put some Musselburgh leek tapes in a couple of weeks ago, although in retrospect I should've waited a bit.
