Title: Overweight Border Collie
Post by: lancashiregardeninggal on April 09, 2011, 09:43
I don't know if any of you saw the collie featured in the Sun newspaper this morning - it weighs nine stones (3 times what it should be) its elderly owner used to feed it our food and it obviously didn't get enough exercise - a shame as it was her only companion - is now being looked after by rescue and should be back to its normal weight within a year.  :)

I guess this is the article (even though it gave me the Scottish Sun):

Poor soul. :( The owner probably thought they were being kind. :(

I can tell you there's no chance of our BC getting like that - she's too lively! :D

Oh that poor dog and so sad for her elderly owner that she resorted to treating her dog as a surrogate human. My dogs are certainly part of my family but definitely not treated as humans.

Despite her condition she still looked happy - like BC's do and they are taking good care of her so I am sure she will make a full recovery  :D

There's a picture of her in the Mail today too - she doesn't look happy there. :(
