Sorry if this is in the wrong spot but can anyone recommend a good make of fork?I am so fed up with the prongs bending in the heavy clay soil,thanks

If you really do need your fork to be indestructable I would look at Bulldog tools, we used there all metal trench fork when I worked on site digging footings never saw one bend ever.Just looked they are in there construction range not cheap but you will never need to buy another,and british made :)
Optimism probably a gardeners best tool.

After lots of research I bought Bulldog forks (they are forged not fabricated or welded, which is supposed to make them far stronger) and haven't regretted it. I broke my previous stainless steel fork digging in clay. Snapped the prong straight off in two places!. As I use a fork more than any other garden tool I think it is worth spending a bit extra to buy the best. :)

I get old bootfair forks, the really old ones, all hand forged, broken a few handles but not bent a tine yet.

 I'm still using the fork the Queen gave me (in married quarters)  a "crow foot" brand Bulldog. ::)

I've got a Wilkinson Sword stainless steel border fork.  It's been well and truly hammered and is still going strong.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

I brought a spear and jackson neverebend about 7 years ago and ...... well it's never bent or snapped.  Does what it says on the tin  :)  Should be about £20.
