Cane toppers....
« on: July 07, 2012, 11:17 »
Just seen the following offer at tesco's for 100 playballs which I think will make excellent cane toppers. It says on the webpage they are 2.5cm (1"). I am assuming they will be hollow.

£3.50 seems a bargain to me.

http://www.tesco.com/direct/tesco-100-playballs-one-pack-supplied/200-3492.prd?sc_cmp=aff_1018132

You can order online and pick up at a local Tesco store.

I've used some of these in the past as we have a lot and they get squashed or break so aren't safe for the kids any more...but they are really thin plastic and don't last very long. I've had more luck using old bath toys like rubber ducks etc. Much thicker plastic and just as bright and fun to look at  :)

I am successfully using these, however, I could only get baby pinks and blue ones when I was looking, not my fav colours, but if it stops me taking an eye out, I can live with that.  Will see if I can find and post a pic..  :)

I use the ball pool balls on canes under my netting, some are thinner than others & don't last so long. That price isn't bad but mine are bigger(ner ner ner ner ner) so not sure on that. Car boots are a good source of them.

I saw a kitchen garden this week where they had painted their actimel bottles teracotta. They blended in quite well.
Not sure I have the patience  ::)

Actually they would be ideal.  Nice and slim and long so not easy to blow off in high wind.  Now, where to get some from?   mmmmmmm..
