When harvesting garlic, do you bend the leaves over on the bulb to send the goodness back to the bulb like other bulbs or do you just leave them until they die off and plait them like in all the best Dracula movies?

I want to use some and store the rest but don't want to lose the crop - where's the best place and what is the best way to store garlic?

I just let my garlic leaves die back of their own accord.  If I have a suitably good harvest, I'll store them in an onion net in the garage to give a bit of air circulation.  If I don't have a lot, I'll peal and crush the excess and freeze in ice cube trays.  They last surprisingly well...

Hi, Mine hang outside under shelter until they feel really dry. Then they hang in a bunch from the kitchen ceiling near the backdoor. I'd like to plait them but never have the time! they seem to keep fine. I just let the leaves go brown naturally too, don't bend them over.

I never bend mine either; just let them dry off on their own a bit, pull them out and let them finish drying under shelter so they keep longer.
