Title: Final harvest of comfrey...
Post by: Growster... on September 10, 2012, 07:01
If we chop down the comfrey, which is flowering well still, is there still time for it to get going again before the year is out?

I'm hoping so, as I just added all of the triffid like growth from mine to the compost bins at the weekend.

I've just taken mine down and stuffed it in an empty growmore tub with water. Luverly stuff.

If it's anything like mine then yes, it will grow back just fine.

I took everything down to the ground a while ago, and within three weeks it was already substantially regrown. After four weeks it was flowering again  Then two weeks ago I composted a couple of barrows of it and I'll have to do it again this weekend.

I don't think we're quite that close to doom weather if that's what you're worried about, and I do think that stuff will survive anything.

Thanks all, for these comments! Very encouraging!

It's growing like mad at present, and naturally, we're going to make sure we get the best out of it!
