Title: Sprouts final days!
Post by: FRUITFULL on December 15, 2008, 07:50
I realised today the 3 sprout plants i have grown from babies, protected from butterflies, watered and cared dont have long left, thier days are numbered as we are eating them Christmas day!
Is it really possible to get attached to a sprout?i almost feel they are part of the family. When i look out of my kitchen window, there they are looking so good :?

If you get too attached, have an extra turkey and let the sprouts live!

I'm sure that's how turkeys feel about it!

It's only been asked once - on the Who's Who thread, can't remember the guess, but that was incorrect as well!

Whilst we do frequent Dorset a lot, the piccie, (this one).....

was taken in Mevagissey, Cornwall.

Hi RR.

I hope so.  I've not managed too much time at the plot this weekend as the weather has been shocking.  I always manage to find something to blither about.  I'm planning at least one post about veg on the Christmas dinner table.

Just a quick question to DD.As a moderator in a respected position do you have to wear a uniform?I love a man in a uniform    Now that would cheer me up when i come to cull the sprouts.

You'd better sit down in that case.

A uniform is not mandatory, but we are encouraged to wear one where possible. We have to supply our own though, as generous as John is with our wages, he's a bit tight when it comes to uniforms.

However, here's me being thanked by the Lord Lieutenant of Leicestershire, (left!), for services rendered to AVG.

Thats partly the enjoyment, along with savings and of course the eating.

Must say out of 8 plants so far, cropped at least 6lb maybe more,
fed at least four families so far and there's lots left.
All for a few pence worth of seeds.

Best wishes PAH :) 'IN
