Got some runner beans off and here are some. Loads more on there!

In a severe lightning storm, grab ya ankles, and stick ya butt in the air.

Well done, this is early.  Mine are only just in flower, so a long way to go yet.  When did you put these in the garden?

Mine are still a bit skinny but i'm anticipating the first proper picking at the weekend.  But tonight I spotted a HUGE pod at the bottom full of big seeds, more like the kind of overdeveloped bean you'd find at the end of the season.  Where did that spring from??

Mine are obviously having a party somewhere with Ice's.  The first lot have got to about a foot tall (Cobra one side, Enorma the other) the second lot of Enorma planted two weeks ago have yet to show.  Think I'll have to go off and sulk now.

I've been doing just that, on my father's advice, for years but I read somewhere, recently, that it does not help the fruit set... I think I read this in a book on loan from my father-in-law  ::)

Any ideas on this one?

Dad was growing them through the winter in the greenhouse, then about April they were moved outdoors.

My dad set them in the evening when the sun was setting.
They get the sun all day from sunrise to set.
