Hiya, are they sleeping in the nest boxes at night?
The glass is neither half empty or half full - it is simply the incorrect size! Find a new glass!

It is not something I have experienced but people on here have suggested plocking up the nest boxes at night to stop them going in, it won't take them long to work out they need to go on the perches.

My POL when they came to me hadn't been taught to roost so all slept in the nest box.  I blocked it up for a week and now every night I have to chase them out of there onto the bars.

It's not as was but still more than I'd like. They're still learning though, bless, I'm sure we'll get there

Mine all sleep in nest boxes and never on perches. I've given up and just poop scoop every morning. I blame the coop design which has perches lower than the nest box. One day when I'm rich I'll buy the perfect coop and they will do the right thing. Meanwhile....

Mine had this, but I got the hubby to raise them, still didn't help.  Chasing them is all I can do, they seem to stay put once chased though

When I had ex-batts they too would sleep in the nest box.  After they had finished laying that day I would put a sheet of newspaper in the nest box.  They would sleep on and poop on the paper which ment it was easy to lift out in the morning :D

ex-bats won't know how to perch as thy won't have perched in their cages.

On an evening when they have gone to bed, pick them up and put them on the perch.  You might have to do this for a week or two.  At the same time, block off the nest box on a night.  Just make sure you un block it on a morning before they lay :)
