I have quite a few of the green fibreboard underlay sheets lying around and wondered if anyone has used them on their plot before or could see anyone see any problems with me using them to lay on my unused beds over the winter?

I don't think they'd be much use as when they get wet they start to disintergrate, so you'd probably end up with a right old mess of weed roots and green fibres. Not sure how envoromentally freindly the underlay would be either as I'd imagine it's treated with some sort of fungicide or preservative.

I would not be surprised if it is full of nasty chemicals that you would rather not have on your veggies.

Thankyou, I am moving house on Friday and didn't want to waste anything but will dispose of them at the tip.
