Title: Plant I.D. please

My mate in Devon found this growing vigorously last year, any ideas what it might be ?

Is there a canna called lucifer? I thought that was crocosmia (montbretia). But I agree it’s definitely a canna Lilly

Yes, there is  :D

(Insert joke about cannas growing and spreading like the devil here.). Cannas do grow easily and are trouble-free, except they do spread to the point of being invasive. If you are considering growing some, I recommend growing them in a large container or isolated bed they can't spread out of. They are winter-hardy, but frost will take the leaves down quickly. Trim off the leaves and stem after frost to 6 inches above ground.
