It's so silly- they live in the countryside for heavens sake!  We had a notice from the council who said oine of our neighbours had complained, and we had to quiet him down.  So now he comes in at night, and goes out at half past 7 in the morning.  It is very annoying, but if it means we can keep him then we'll do anything  :( :( :(

Probably bankers with too much money and thought living in the country would be simply super.

Someone complained about my cockerel and I don't even have one.  Thought I might get one as revenge on the miserable old g*t.

they want to try living near me.  i don't have a cockerel because it would be unfair on the neighbours BUT if I did I think his noise would be drowned out by the seagulls who wake us at 5 every morning

We have a donkey in one of the fields opposite who brays most of the night and one neighbour has a Malamute with the loudest bark and howl I have ever heard. I'm just waiting for someone to object to my two boys crowing after 7:30am!

The council should serve an abatement order on the complainant, give him or her 4 months to stop moaning.

Poor old Nigel!  I agree, stupid that you can't live in the countryside and keep a cockerel!  We are lucky that we only have 2 near neighbours, and one of them also had a cockerel.  We are down to 9 at the moment!

And then you get the people who move to the country who complain about the smell.  ??? ???

Our neighbours liked the sound of our rooster - it was me who objected to being woken up at 4.00 on a summers morning.  ::) ::) So off he went to a farm where he had lots of ladies to keep him company.  :D :D

as long as my boy is with his girls, he is quiet.  As soon as we have to isolate him, that is when he starts.  But I like the sound- it's natural!

WELL!! our allotments (apparently) were served with a court notice regarding a cockerel!! And so all the chickens have to be in one field, basically if you want to just grow veg, you can go anywhere but if you want chickens as well you have to go in this other field, thats the impression i seem to get.

When i signed up i had to stipulate i want 2 chickens and i cant have any cockerels, which im not too bothered about, but it does seem a little ridiculous.

My mum said 'why cant chickens and veg just live in harmony together - it should be free love for chickens!' hahahaha hence this tag i made (just needs an eyelet) to go on the water tap (different story for a different time)

I agree whole heartedly with the rest if you live in the country this is what happens!
