Hi
wanting ro put up some raised beds on my 22' x 18'ft plot, (this is what I have left after my chicken run) . Tempted to use recycled plastic, (eg link a bord) as easy to install, pretty . Has anyone used these with any success

link-a-bord would be good, never bought any myself but I have it in my head that it's quite expensive?

Seems a bit dear when you can get pallet wood for nothing and paint it with green preservative
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

but perhaps money isn't a problem for you?  I personally would rather spend a bit more money on my seeds and tools and use recycled wood for the raised beds

Going to price up scaffolding boards this evening, when I've fixed the washing machine, had flat tyre replaced on my car, found out why husbands car is not working. Looking now at supposedly sick, off school 13 year old son who's taller than me and wondering whose the muppet. As I run round like headless chicken and he watches tv.
Its a great life if you don't weaken!!!

I got scaffolding boards for £5 each from my local loot, not in the best condition but have made me a nice raised bed

or you could try an advert on your local freecycle or dontdumpthat.com.
people often have old floor boards and the like.
make great raised beds ,path edges  what ever ya like .

Many Thanks for the help, checked on ebay and would you believe theres a guy here in the village (Ystradgynlais) selling, half railway sleepers, 40 to 50 of them. Just got too win them now and get one of our cars working to pick them up.
