Hi all,

My coop is muck bottom, and it has quite healthy soil, I constantly turn it over to re-fresh the soil as no water/rain can get to it thus keeping my chooks warm & dry all year round.

My chooks normally dust bath in the soil quite happily but today I have purchased a bag on playing sand and added into the coop bottom/muck ......
(thinking this will be better for dust bath for them)

what do you think??

yes it should be ok but you may find they prefer the muck

I've done the same a few times, they enjoy mixing it all together.
