I have a range of chickens; here goes
RIR
Barnevelders
Light sussex
buff sussec
araucana
buff orpington
cuckoo marans
welsummer
barred plymouth rock
cobar.

and am going to try hatching 10 eggs (tonight they go in the incubator)
2 RIR, 2 Marans, 2 welsummer, 2 Leghorn and 2 barnevelders.

Wanting to do some plymouth rocks (but couldnt get the fertilised eggs) and also a few hybrids.

can anyone advise me about hybrids - was thinking about bovans nera and bovans goldline (what crosses are these etc)

i dont know much about them .they are dutch as nera is the word for black in dutch . you wont go far wrong in talking to keepers lodge poultry .i cant remeber the addess

Hattie (see my avitar) is a Bovans Nera. and has laid about 250 eggs this year.  I believe she is a Rhode Island Red crossed with a Maran and a Plymouth Rock (not sure how you get 3 in there ?).   She is not quite as good a layer as my Meadowsweet Ranger who has laid over 350 this year (2006).  :shock:
