Hi,

I am pleased with myself this week. First jam to come out of the allotment I started a year and a half ago. I went out on Monday and collected about 2pounds each of strawberries and blackcurrants. I was only expecting a small punnet of strawbs.

Last night I turned them into jam and it seems to have worked a treat! I have never combined the two in jam before but so far it is tasty.

It's a great feeling when it all starts coming together isn't it? I love to see my jam's in the cupboard & even better when it is from your own fruit. I've got to make some gooseberry in the next day or so.

Yummy what ratio of each fruit did you use.


Why am i asking i have loads  but we'll never run out of jam will we 

I am so obsessed with makig jam and chutney, made another batch of beetroot chutney today, got to hide it before hubby gets home

About 50/50. The blackcurrants have lots of pectin so it set nicely.

To be honest it still tasted fairly blackcurranty, but I didn't have time for much tasting last night.
