We planted some cabbages in autumn last year. Some have been harvested and some aren't quite ready yet but on some of the ones we've harvested there's some white powder patches under some of the leaves. Is this cabbage whitefly or something else?
Also, whatever it is-are the cabbages still edible if the damaged leaves are discarded or not?

PS Other than these white patches, the cabbages look very healthy.

I have small white "crusty" circles on the undersides of my psb leaves but haven't seen whitefly so think it could be a mould?
It doesn't affect the taste. Any really bad leaves go to the hens but otherwise I cook it all!!!!

I have it on my cabbage and think it's a waxy substance left by cabbage whitefly...

whatever it is it was only on a few outside leaves, which I binned, and ate the rest

That's great, thanks.  I'm pleased that we don't need to bin the whole crop! Another quick question; we have been recommended Westlands Plant Rescue for all manner of pests. Does anyone else use it? It gives different concentrations depending on the crop or can a standard dosage be used?

Never used it, but my recommendation as with all products of this nature is to go with the label.
