apples composting Q'

hi everyone

is it ok to put my old apples that have fallen off my tree onto the compost heap --as most have probly got maggots or shall i recycle them to my council dump

Fine in the compost, you may want to chop 'em up a little 1st to speed up the rotting process

Don't plant onions or brassicas where the apples fall on the ground. The acidity causes the crops to be stunted.
