Tiller Badger Earthquake
« on: August 25, 2007, 08:06 »
Hi all,

Anyone use the Badger Earthquake Tiller. I just wanted to know how they find handling this machine and are the tilling results good?

I'm thinking of buying one of these machines for my plot and to help out on my daughter's plot too.

Thanks

Dave

Did you get the Badger? It looks a strange combination not unlike the latest Honda's.

Hi there, I have now purchased this tiller, it was easy to assemble and appears quite robust.

I have yet to use it on the plot, when I do I'll let you know how it handles and the quality of the tilling and any other pros and cons with the machine.

I have used my tiller for the first time last weekend.

The machine is quite portable as the handles fold down I needed my good lady to help lift it into the boot of my Mondeo;it is not that heavy and it fitted in easily with plenty of room to spare.

At the allotment, again I needed assistance lifting it out the car, however it was very easy to manouvre the machine as it has such big stable wheels on it.

The machine started on the 2nd pull of the starter cord and was easy to manouvre onto the plot.

I have never used a tiller before and I think that I got used to the machine within about 10 minutes of use. The soil broke down very easily inot a fairly fine crumb state.

Took me about 30 minutes afterwards to power wash the machine. to thoroghly clean it.

In all I was very pleased with the tiller and I cultivated the best part of a 10 rod site within two hours.

I've had a Badger Earthquake for about four months now and I'm very pleased with it. When I got my allotment I dug about a quarter of it then rotavated the rest. When you think the land hadn't been touched for a number of years I was really happy with the result. It just 'gromfed' it's way through it!
He's my best buddy, my dog called Woody.
If it works, organic. If it don't, well.........??
