Do Chillie Plants come back year after year if you bring them indoors for the winter? Someone I know had one in Africa that came back every year.

Not all of them are perennial.........but I think most of them are  :D
Bring them into the warm, give them a haircut and keep them on the dry side until early spring.

Its a Tabasco plant, its already indoors, at the patio window where it gets quite alot of sun. Will tell my son to water less when it gets really gold. It has tiny little chillies on it, some red some green. How big do Tabaso Chillies get?

The plant grows to between one and four feet in height with fruits of one and a half inches length.

Think we may need to keep it a bit smaller when in the house lol, and the fruit is only half an inch long, do Chiliies need alot of feeding?

The usual rule is to keep chillies on the dry side and feed with liquid tomato fertiliser every week or so after they start setting fruit.

BUT..............

I grew tabasco for the first time this year and both it and the cayenne next to it (which I've grown before) grew weak and spindly and needed a big boost of Miracle Grow to get them growing more strongly.

Can only assume the compost was rubbish as the conditions were otherwise exactly the same as in previous years, so make sure you don't overdo the "treat them tough" approach when they start to grow again.

I actually had a ripe tabasco chilli which I posted a picture of on here back in July or August which was 1mm X 2mm!!  but now it is carrying about 20 1" chillies some of which are ripe and some still pale green. Not great, and the cayennes are much better than that, but better than nothing!  :)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

I like the haircut Jay - you do seem to be going a bit grey now though!

Thanks Jay, you'll never guess what my son is called  :D!
We have lots of tiny chillies, maybe they will be hotter with being smaller??  ;)

Didn't taste my 1mm X 2mm chilli as it kind of disappeared as I tried to de-seed it!!

Not tried the other tabascos yet.

(I'm not actually called Jay by the way; my initials are JG but I thought JayG had a bit more of a flourish to it as a username - not the best idea I've ever had!)  ::)
