curd from pulp
« on: August 10, 2010, 17:22 »
Hi - does anyone know if I can use the leftover fruit pulp, from making bramble jelly, to turn into blackberry curd. Am a bit worried that it may not have enough flavour left after draining off most of  the juice for the jelly but thought it may be worth a try.

I added mine to crab apples and some apple juice to make another jelly. The waste then went to the birds :D

Thanks for your idea. Annoyingly I am now out of jars so will have to come up with something else. Was thinking about making a flapjack mixture and using the fruit in the middle like those ones you can get in health shops or maybe I will freeze the pulp until I have some jars as I quite fancy doing an apple jelly with a hint of blackberry.

I have recipes that say to make a fruit cheese or leather from the pulp left over. Just a thought, haven't tried it myself though, too much of a novice.  :)
