Hello everyone,
We have this strange plant growing on an uncultivated bit of our allotment and wonder if anyone can tell us what it is please.

Thank you so much for the quick replies.
I have googled it and passed the info onto our chairman, we will dig it up this weekend.
Our trustee has been tilling the land around it treating it like a long lost pet, but we have small children on site so it has to go.
Thank you once again, your knowledge is so valuable to us new gardeners.
