Pumpkin Issue
« on: October 13, 2009, 12:44 »
Good afternoon everyone,

I thought this year, I would grow jack O'Lanterns for halloween.

I have 4 on the plot all doing okay, but the plants are starting to wilt, but pumpkins seem fine on their bed of straw. Ahhh.

Now... When can I pick them to carve out scary faces.
Someone said I need to pull them to dry and some have said to just pull them on the day.

My only concern is that if I pull them now, they will going all soagy, moulding and rot.

Thanks
Thanks

If they've changed colour, ie ripened, cut them now and let them cure/harden until the 31st for carving
Top tip for camping....don't go.
