In Praise of Leeks & Parsnips
« on: December 28, 2013, 17:43 »
I have been down the Lottie today & harvested some Parsnips & Leeks straight out of the ground.
I must say what great Veg these 2 are. They just sit in the ground all Winter waiting until they are harvested, mine will keep until late March.
99% Organic and 1% Slug Pellets.

Allotment holder since 27th May 2007.

Totally agree fat belly.
I've been harvesting leeks and parsnips for a few weeks and they never fail to produce fantastic meals.
Soup, roasted, curries, cheesy leek flan.
I have my own cement mixer and not afraid to use it!!

Well, to put it nicely, they make you pass wind that is both loud and smelly. Or so I am told.

I was going to say that they made you fart, but didn't think it would be allowed.

eat them in small amounts ie one each and you are ok. We overdid it and had 4 each which was explosive,

I almost forgot red ursula kale which is producing while we speak a great veg.
